Unfortunately, the vast majority of speakers available today are totally lacking in detail. They are 'dumbed down' to the lowest common denominator. That is, they are designed to soften even the worst sounding CD's. We refer to these modern speakers as 'dead, dull, dark, and distant sounding' (the four 'D's) People used to these speakers initially mistake 'detail' for 'brightness'. But they quickly overcome this when they listen to a good quality recording played through Total Balance Audio Speakers.
"In real world A/B comparisons, no speaker rivals TBA in "realism, clarity, accuracy, speed, truth of timbre, lack of distortion, phase accuracy, time delay, imaging, sound stage, and efficiency". I have personally heard Lowther drivers, which are nearly equal in every way to the TBA's, except for the great amount of bass and dynamics that these speakers can produce. This is the ONLY system I have heard that actually creates a 'holographic' 3D sound stage from a stereo source. The singer is actually in the room, along with all the other instruments, exactly where they are supposed to be--as if you were sitting first row center at a concert. At times I forget I am listening to speakers at all, its an amazing experience."--Scott Werthei
